The NWSEC Collaborative Workspace (CW) is an experiment in collaborative research and information management. The project relies on the commitment, integrity and creativity of its members as they explore the New World of 2280.
The NWSEC's membership is spread out around the world, with members on every continent. New discoveries are made every day, whether it be a new plant or animal species in South America, or a revolutionary new building material for arcology construction in Lavana Free City. Sharing these discoveries, discussing them and collaborating on further research with counterparts around the world can be difficult. The CW is meant to help bridge this gap.
This wiki is considered phase one by the NWSEC Board of Directors and its Chair Paul Silvine. The direction the Collaborative Workspace takes will be governed by input from its community of users. We invite you to become an active member of the community, assist in the development of the CW where ever you feel comfortable and able to do so, and we encourage you to share your thoughts and feedback on the system with us.
Future iterations of the Collaborative Workspace may take a very different form than the wiki currently in place, but we feel this is a great place to start and a platform we can collectively build upon.
Our Role in the Alpha Omega World
The NWSEC plays an important role in the Mind Storm Labs-created Alpha Omega World. Our primary function is to create, maintain and enforce standards in the various scientific and engineering fields. Our secondary function, and the one which the CW has been designed to assist in, is the documentation of new discoveries, again, in the various scientific and engineering fields.
The NWSEC CW and the Alpha Omega Game
The CW is an important part of Alpha Omega's evolution and community involvement. Our partner agency, Mind Storm Labs, believes the Alpha Omega Community is critical not only to the success of Alpha Omega, but more importantly to the future of the game itself and the world it is set in.
Content on this wiki is a mix of official Mind Storm Labs-created game content and community-created game content. Official game content is marked as such, but you are of course encouraged to incorporate anything found here into your game.
