Since 2137 the NWSEC and its members have dedicated themselves to the pursuit of scientific and engineering excellence and the establishment of global standards for both.

Headquartered in Lavana Free City, the NWSEC is the world's leading center for cooperative research and information sharing. Our members are among the world's most talented and respected scientists and engineers.

Our Mission
The NWSEC is a multifaceted organization with an evolving mission.

First, we are committed to re-establishing global standards for science and engineering from the ground up. We work closely with professionals around the world to ensure standards, whether they be simple units of measure or complex ethics issues, are developed, tested, documented and shared. We also work closely with the heads of many of the world's City States and other authoritative bodies to ensure compliance with NWSEC standards.

Second, we serve as a hub for the scientific and engineering communities as they embark on the challenging rediscovery of the world in which we live. We are committed to facilitating intelligent information exchange and providing our members with useful tools for advancing science and engineering.

NWSEC Research Site Attacked
August 10, 2280

An NWSEC field research site, temporarily established 200 kilometers south-west of the Regina Construct was attacked last night. At least four members of the team have been confirmed killed. Sixteen remain missing. Two survivors were rescued by an NWSEC recovery team. The search for survivors continues.

This is the second such attack in recent weeks. The NWSEC cautions all staff and research affiliates to exercise extreme caution when operating in the area.
